David Laszewki Bio

The New York State Strength and Power Hall of Fame is proud to induct Mr. David Laszewski into the class of 2018; Contributor Section.  Dave is a long-time and successful competitor who has routinely given of his talents to help grow the sport of powerlifting and further the lives of others.  Mr. Laszewski began volunteering as far back as 1966 when he started coaching football for the Endwell Youth Organization.  Dave then brought his coaching to the City of Binghamton School District by developing its Special Olympics program.  In 1991 and at the request of the area coordinator, David Laszewski combined his passion for powerlifting and his love for “special” Olympians by forming the Special Olympics Powerlifting Club.  Dave has coached number of champions, but much more importantly, he has given “special” athletes opportunities to experience the thrill of lifting weights that they otherwise never would have had.  Additionally, Dave freely gives of himself by delivering for Meals on Wheels. By all accounts, David Laszewski is a true champion and one that deserves honoring.  Dave helps to make the world a better place and the New York State Strength and Power Hall of Fame is thrilled to induct him into the class of 2018.
